you to try.
Throughout the Festival there will be cookery demonstrations from celebrity
and local chefs, personal appearances by Television's Jonathan File

from 500 to 1,000.

Houses Built
The Council responded to consultation on the County Structure Plan
by arguing that the house building target for the Borough should increase
from 6,000 to 9,000 in the period 1986–2001. The Secretary of
State agreed to it being increased to 8,000. The Council then made representations
to the County Council on the next Structure Plan running to 2011 to
increase house-building numbers from 6,700 to 7,600. This was agreed
following the Borough Council’s representations. The result has
been housing-led population growth with the Borough population increasing
from 98,600 at the 1981 Census to the current figure of 111,006. The
housing stock has been transformed with around 500 new units constructed
each year. This has provided residents with access to dwellings constructed
to the highest current standards of energy efficiency and with the full
range of modern facilities.
Transport Links
The town looks set for continued economic growth as transport links
improve. A new £30 million bypass to the south of the town opens
in May this year affording faster links to the M6. With the confirmation
from the Strategic Rail Authority that the £9.7 billion investment
in the West Coast main line is to proceed, the future journey time to
London will come down to 100 minutes. Around 40 trains per day are anticipated.
