Bombardier Transportation Limited of Crewe has emerged from the traditional train building industry, established in the town with Crewe Railway Works, to offer broader based engineering services in an increasingly competitive market place. Apart from engineering, the agricultural, food and clothing industries have traditionally been important locally. Mornflake Oats origins date back to the 17th century and the company operates the largest oat mill in Europe and Cheshire Clothing continues to produce quality suits and clothing from its Crewe factory. |
