Assistance - The Agency operates two loan funds: the level of assistance from both funds will depend on the viability of the business proposal and the number of jobs to be created or safeguarded but will not normally be more than 50% of eligible costs.

•  The Business Development Fund deals with longer term projects and provides loans which are normally unsecured and repayable over a maximum of five years at a fixed rate of interest above the bank base rate at the time of the approval.
  
•  The Challenge Fund provides more flexible packages covering short term support to companies with temporary working capital problems. Loans from the Challenge Fund are normally unsecured and repayable over a maximum of two years at the bank base rate of interest. The interest is accrued and repayable at the end of the term.

Applications - Application forms are available from Crewe Development Agency and local banks. Help and advice on the preparation and submission of business plans can be obtained from (link to contacts) the Crewe and Nantwich Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise.

Approval - Crewe Development Agency approval should be obtained before the project commences. Retrospective approval will only be given in exceptional circumstances. The decision of the Crewe Development Agency is final.
